How to do Sick well

I have just recently came across the term “Doing sick well”.
My health is very unreliable, It’s either a Lupus flare, fibromyalgia flare, FND or the hepatitis is active, or I have an infection. As you can see and read all about the illnesses I have https://georgiana3026.wixsite.com/mybeautifultr/health-disability .
On a daily basis I struggle with my disability from having a stroke, or my body is suffering with one of the illnesses. Most of the illnesses has fatigue as one of the symptoms, and Fatigue is quite debilitating. I wake up feeling good and then the fatigue kicks in. Let’s go back to the spoon theory...Doing each task uses up a spoon while you only have so many spoons to work, or just living a life!
For a long time I was never able to accept that I was a ‘’sick person’’ but since starting my blog/writing my autobiography I have had, and continue adjusting to how much I can do in a week
I began 2018 with a bang! I had all this energy that I once had before having a stroke, I was able to work 8am to 6pm at my desk and hand write notes of all the new skills I was learning on blogging and marketing myself as an author and writer. But my energy levels dramatically decreased overnight. I cried and no longer wanted to accept that I no longer had all this energy where I could get heaps done. I had to re evaluate what was important to me as I continue to work on my autobiography, continue to write for others to get better at my writing and for exposure as an author and blogger. I found that I could work while in bed, where I could still get a lot done.
I like to think that me adjusting to where and how i work is “Doing sick well.”
Some tips that worked for me and hopefully you also
Take your meds, but if you don’t think about “If I don’t take the meds that keep me well, what are the consequences of my actions?
Listen to your body if your tired take a rest
Don’t beat yourself up if you can’t get all that you aspire to do that day
Don’t give yourself a weekly to do list, write in your diary
Re evaluate how many days you work a week that can be sustainable (I have recently had to, re evaluate the amount of days I work, I went from 7 days of work to 4 days a week to work, I have hump day, Wednesday off and weekends off) You can get more done in the days you work
Fuel yourself, with foods that will give you energy, protein and vegetables cut back on the foods that only make you feel sluggish (For me that’s gluten, Dairy and processed sugar, but I do cave into my cravings at times :( )
Think positively, even on your bad days. “You’re fighting illnesses and working. Think, or even say it out loud “I am amazing, Not only am I fighting illness I’m also working and learning!
Go to bed before 10, wake up early, you’ll be surprised and how much you get done
